Privacy Policy

MacroMax is a calorie and macro tracking app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it for us, and how to delete it. We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code.
- Body stats you enter: sex, age, height, weight, activity level and goal, used to calculate your calorie and macro targets.
- What you log: your recipes, meal logs, meal budgets, weigh-ins, and any foods you add yourself.
- Meal descriptions and photos you choose to send to the AI features. These are used to draft that one meal and are not saved to your account.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active trial or subscription. We never see your payment details; Apple and Google handle payment.
We don't collect your location, contacts or advertising identifiers, and the app has no third-party ads or ad tracking.
Who processes your data for us
- Supabase hosts our database and sign-in, and stores the account and logging data above.
- Resend delivers sign-in emails.
- OpenAI receives meal descriptions and photos when you use AI recipe drafting or photo logging, and a meal's nutrition totals when you ask for a meal insight. OpenAI's API terms state that this data isn't used to train their models by default.
- RevenueCat, Apple and Google handle subscriptions and purchases.
- USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts receive food search terms and scanned barcodes to look up nutrition data. These requests don't include your account details.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, recipes, meal logs, budgets and weigh-ins within 30 days.
Your choices
- You can edit or delete individual recipes, logs and weigh-ins in the app at any time.
- You can request a copy of your data, or deletion of your account and all its data, by emailing support@macromax.net from the address you sign in with.
Health information
MacroMax is a nutrition tracker, not a medical service. Its estimates and AI insights aren't medical advice. Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet.
Children
MacroMax isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Access to each person's data is restricted to that account at the database level, and secret keys (such as our AI provider key) are kept on our servers, never in the app.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and we'll tell you in the app if the change is significant.
